This is the FAQ page for the D-solve website.

Q: What is D-solve?
A: D-solve (some pronounce it 'dissolve') seeks to be a central resource to solving diabetes using a low carb and low insulin approach to diabetes management.  At some point I beleive diabetes (both Type 1 and 2) will be cured, but until then there IS a solution (we define solving your diabetes as regaining normal blood sugars) and this site seeks to provide information and resources related to that solution.  I am a Type 1 diabetic of 28 years (I was diagnosed at age 4).  My A1C is now very close to normal (5.0) and I beleive this is a very achievable result for all other diabetics.  I don't beleive there is enough focus or attention on the fact that there is in fact a solution to diabetes.  The societal costs and above all the impact to human lives is not something that cannot be changed--not only can we improve the situation it can be "solved".  It is my hope that through this site, the community that is built around it, and links to news and other communities focues on this same are to havea  positive impact on helping others to find the solution they are looking for.
Q: Do you make any money off your links to products?
A: Yes--but very little.  We hope you will notice how "Ad Free" D-solve is--this is a huge difference with other diabetic sites which are in my opinion too heavily focused on making money with distracting and sometimes conflict of interest ads.   We would like to keep this independance and fully control any products we endorse.  The only money made is through Amazon's Associates program where we receive roughly 4% of any book sale generated from D-solve (books are the only products we currently list on this site as we have deemed them supportive of the overall diabetes solution we present here).  We use the money earned from the book sales to first help pay for hosting of the site (currently around $100/year, but hopefully that cost goes up with increased traffic).  With any residual money we are setting aside money to help pay for non-profit status to further enable our efforts to spread this message.  Lastly, with any other residual money we will be donating the rest to a cause such as Insulin for Life which helps get products that might otherwise be thrown away and wasted such as insulin and test strips, which are close to expiration, but not expired, to those that cannot afford supplies who are very often in third world countries.
