D-solve IRC Setup Instructions
There are three different options for connecting to our chat room:
1) No installation required browser based chat

2) Setup For Firefox:
1) install firefox if you haven't done that already (this is a better browser in my opinion then microsoft internet explorer and is required so that you can use the plug-in in step 2): http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/
2) install chatzilla (it will install as a plug-in to firefox): https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/16/ (click the green "install now" button and restart firefox to complete the installation)
3) once installed and restarted firefox click on this link (or put it in the browser window where you type web addresses): irc://irc.freenode.net/dsolve (this connects you to the irc chat server)
4) you should see who else is on in the left column, and can begin chatting
3) Setup for mIRC:

Server: irc.freenode.net
Channel: dsolve
NOTE: there are other instructions for reserving a nickname on a server with a password not included here--you can find these with a quick google search (in the future I can add a few handy IRC commands here). There are lots of other commands you can use like private messaging versus broadcasting to a group, but those are things that will be linked to once I write up a real "how to"
