This FAQ show how to contribute diabetes solution related news, information, links, or documents. Contribute something today!
D-solve has been built with community participation and contribution in mind. The site has a built in authoring capability to allow every user to participate in building out what we hope will be the most comprehensive set of information on how to actually solve diabetes. First things first let us explain the various roles that users can be assigned--the table below summarizes the 5 different roles users might have:
The default user role is Registered User. For Front-end users to receive any other role requires an Administrator or Super Administrator to change their profile through the Back-end Administrator panel. So if you have some information that meets those critieria and you would like to contribute then lets get started! 1) Register and create an account on D-solve (this takes about 1 minute) 2) Send an email to This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it and request the role of "author" (we will assign "editor" and "publisher" roles to "authors" when it makes sense--the goal is to create a self-sustaining site and this means distributing ownership as much as possible). Once you have done that all of the items on the "user menu" (see below) that you see once you log in will be active--you can click on any item and submit content (publishing of the content--i.e. having it show up on the site is contingent on your your permissions--see the table above).
Contributing News, Information, Article, or WebLink: Simple click on the menu item you wish to contribute and you will be taken to a page where you can write and format the entry. When you are done simply click the save icon (floppy disk) and send This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it an email to notify publishers that there is content awaiting review and publishing. Somone with the publisher permission will review, approve, and publish the content.
Contributing Documens to the Download Section: Once logged in you will see a new icon in the Downloads section that is titled "Submit a new document" as seen in the image below: Click on tihs icon and upload the document you would like to contribute with all the description and infomation requested. NOTE: this is a three step wizard pattern and presently the third page of the wizard if very distorted. To complete this last step you will have to scroll all the way to the right and click on the Save icon (floppy disk)--hope to get this fixed but for now you can work around it.
